We’re excited to share a range of grant programs available from the City of Edmonton—designed to help property owners, developers, and businesses upgrade, redevelop, and rejuvenate their sites.
Whether you’re looking to improve a storefront, undertake energy upgrades, or revitalize underused land, these programs offer financial support that can significantly reduce your out-of-pocket costs:
Brownfield Redevelopment Grant – The Brownfield Redevelopment Grant Program promotes redevelopment of qualified brownfield properties by helping cover some of the testing and remediation costs. Contact the Brownfield Coordinator for more information regarding your specific property.
Clean Energy Improvement Program (CEIP) – An innovative financial support program for the addition of renewable energy and energy retrofits to your residential, commercial and multi-unit residential buildings. Access competitive interest rates and make repayments conveniently through your property’s regular tax bill.
Corner Store Grants – Grants for Neighbourhood Commercial properties or properties that meet the commercial needs of local residents, such as small commercial centres or standalone commercial buildings. Grants can apply to exterior storefronts, interiors and may include small business support. Must be located within the Anthony Henday. Apply any time.
Graffiti Management – Capital City Clean Up offers $750 worth of professional graffiti cleaning assistance to private property owners, by title lot, in Edmonton each calendar year. We aim to remove graffiti within 7-10 days, weather dependent. Apply any time.
Storefront Signage & Refresh Grant – a matching reimbursement grant of up to $1,000 for new fascia signs and/or frontage maintenance such as new paint or power washing. Available to businesses and property owners in Business Improvement Areas. Apply any time.
Storefront Improvement Grant – a matching reimbursement grant of up to $25,000 for a midblock building or $50,000 for a corner building. The program supports impactful exterior repairs such as a redesigned storefront, installing new windows and doors, new cladding, new awnings, or new patios on private property. Available to businesses and property owners in Business Improvement Areas. Next application intake is October 1-31, 2025 in anticipation of the 2026 construction season.
These programs represent an opportunity to revitalize properties, reduce operating costs, and enhance the vibrancy of Edmonton’s commercial corridors.
