Raka Josan serves as President and CEO of Josan Properties, a premier commercial real estate firm
headquartered in Edmonton. Under Raka Josan’s strategic direction, the company has evolved into
a diversified landlord and manager, overseeing assets across every major CRE class. Today, Josan
Properties boasts an impressive portfolio valued at over $200 million and a talented team of 165
professionals.

Raka Josan’s journey began with hands-on experience in his family’s real estate operations,
instilling a deep understanding of the industry from an early age. After earning a Mechanical
Engineering degree from the University of Alberta, he joined the family business in 2001, later
enhancing his business acumen with an MBA from the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of
Business.

His career includes a pivotal role as Financial Analyst at Brookfield Properties, where he gained
valuable insights into large-scale asset management. Returning to Edmonton, Raka Josan
assumed leadership of the family enterprise in 2009, following his father’s retirement. As CEO, he
unified and expanded the company’s holdings, integrating diverse business interests under the
Josan Properties brand.
