Marlon is excited to participate in the 2026 NAIOP Real Estate Challenge. Growing up in South Burnaby, his interest in real estate was shaped by witnessing the rapid evolution of his local neighbourhood. This firsthand exposure sparked a long-standing ambition to help shape the city he calls home and contribute to the future of the Greater Vancouver region.
As a Finance and Real Estate major at UBC, Marlon sees this challenge as a valuable opportunity to apply his academic foundation to real-world development while collaborating with a driven, high-performing team. He is particularly interested in bridging the gap between financial modelling and physical development as he prepares to transition into a full-time career in the industry. He also values the mentorship and professional connections fostered through the competition, recognizing their importance to his long-term growth.
Marlon currently serves as Treasurer of the UBC Real Estate Club. Outside of school, he is an avid swimmer and enjoys experimenting with new recipes or exploring Vancouver’s food scene with friends. After graduation, he hopes to pursue a career in development and spend time travelling to experience different cultures and urban environments firsthand.
